NFPA Rope &Water Compliant Rescue

All courses are certified through Rescue 3 International, the industry standard since its formation in 1979. The necessary requirements for a student to qualify as a Technician level rescuer under the NFPA 1670 standard, falls into 3 classes.

Those classes are:
Swiftwater Rescue Technician Unit 1™ (SRTU1)
Technical Rope Rescue: Technician Level™ (TRR:TL)
Swiftwater Rescue Technician Advanced™ (SRTA)

Upon completion of all three courses, the rescuer will have met the requirements for the Technician level in both water and rope under NFPA 1670.
After becoming certified as an NFPA 1670 Water and Rope Rescue Technician, students are eligible to apply for certification at the Technician level under NFPA 1006. To obtain this certification, a student must first complete the Professional Qualifications Workshop Task Book and then attend the Professional Qualifications Workshop.

if working toward meeting the requirements for the NFPA 1670 Standard for the areas of water and rope a certificate from a recognized technical rope rescue program

PLEASE, NOTE!
To meet the NFPA 1670 Standard for the areas of water and rope, a technical rope rescue course is a prerequisite. Rescue 3 will accept rope certification from other recognized training programs in place of this course (unless the student is a candidate for Rescue 3's Instructor Program). Both a Certificate of Completion and a training record with specific skills taught and passed must be provided to Rescue 3's Corporate Office before the substitution can be made. The other course will be evaluated to assure that it does meet all the requirements laid out for rope at the Technician level in NFPA 1670. Once this is done a Rescue 3 Certificate showing that the requirements of the NFPA 1670 for water and rope have been met can be issued.
